Holiday Wreaths and Olive Oil Fundraising Sale for Science Camp
Support EDS while getting ready for the holidays with fresh wreaths, cold-pressed olive oil, and flavored vinegar! Up to 50% from the sale will help send our 4th graders to Science Camp in 2025. Olive oil and vinegar will be ready for pickup on Wed, Nov 20th. Wreaths will arrive the first week of December. All orders must be in by November 8th. Click here to order.
Terrifying Tunes at the MEF Pumpkin Patch
Come hear the EDMS Jazz Band and Honor Band and Orchestra (5th grade) perform at the Pumpkin Patch! Tentative schedule: 5-6 Honor Orchestra; 6-7 Honor Band; 7-7:30 EDMS Jazz Band; 7:30-8 MMS Band.
Come for the music, stay for the pumpkins! The Pumpkin Patch is a volunteer fundraiser for the Moreland Education Foundation. Every dollar raised benefits Moreland students! Come for food, games and the super popular Haunted Trail. Entrance to the Patch is free; food and tickets for the game and the Haunted Trail are sold at the Patch. More information here.

Scholastic Book Fair 2024
Get ready! The Scholastic Book Fair is coming our way. Choosing their own books empowers kids and inspires them to become Bolder, Prouder, and Stronger Readers. AND—as always—every book they buy earns rewards for our school. The fair will take place from October 15 through October 21 in the EDS Library and will be open after school until 3:45, and on Wednesday until 2:30.

E-Waste Day to Benefit 4th Grade Science Camp
Bring your e-waste to the EDS parking lot on Doyle (from of school) to help raise money for 4th graders to attend Science Camp next year! Accepted items include: TVs, computers servers, monitors, laptops, printers, phones, stereos, cell phones, wire/cable. Items that re not accepted include: toys, alkaline batteries, bulbs, hair dryers, household items, microwave ovens, fans/heaters, other appliances.
Moreland Woods Family Work Day
We need your help sprucing up the Moreland Woods and outdoor classroom spaces for our students, teachers and staff. No experience needed. Wear clothes that can get dirty, bring a hat, sunscreen, water bottle and gardening or work gloves if you have them. Middle school students must be accompanied by an adult (1 adult per 4 middle school students). Jobs will be available for elementary school aged kids! Community service hours available. Sign up to volunteer and bring tools here!
PTO General Meeting: Money Matters (Zoom)
Come learn about how our school is funded, and how every family plays a part. Vote on the 2024-25 PTO budget. Get to know the Moreland Education Fund (MEF) and the Measure G school parcel tax.

Hot Dogs and Hoops: Welcome Back Family BBQ
Please join us for our traditional Welcome Back Family BBQ, Hot Dogs and Hoops!
This event is FREE for all EDS families and takes place in the courtyard from 5-7pm. Come to reconnect with old friends and meet some new ones. Vegetarian options will be available!

EDS Walkathon T-Shirt Design & Yearbook Cover Art Contests

It is time to get creative for this year's Walkathon T-shirt design and the EDS 2024-25 yearbook cover! Submissions are now being accepted for BOTH.
Print out the contest form(s) below, and submit completed form(s) to the office by 3pm on Monday, September 16. Forms are available at the office. Please be sure to review the individual rules for both contests.
EDS teachers and staff will vote for the winning designs without knowledge of the student’s name/classroom. Winners will be announced on Friday, September 20. Runner-up designs may be used for advertising posters and other materials. All entries have a chance to appear in this year's yearbook!

HOWL: Husky Orientation Welcoming Leaders - 6th Grade Orientation
EDS welcomes its newest 6th grade leaders to the middle school section of the campus to meet each other and their teachers. This is student-only event.
Parents are invited to the 6th Grade Family Social 2:30PM - 3:30PM! See flyer.
PE Uniforms ordered online between Aug 5th and Aug 9th are available for pick-up during HOWL.
