The Everyone on the Bus (EOTB) campaign runs from the first day of school through August 28th! Help us hit our $80,000 goal to directly benefit every EDS student. The suggested donation is $140 per student. Learn more!
Walk-a-thon

New Moreland School District Updates this Year & How the PTO can Help
Moreland School District Requirement
New District Volunteer Requirements
New state laws took effect July 1, 2026, focused on student safety. In response, the district has updated its volunteer requirements beginning with the 2026–27 school year as follows:
- Complete Moreland’s Volunteer Form (all volunteers, including returning volunteers)
- Fingerprinting (required for all field trips, one-time requirement)
- If you need to get fingerprinted, sign up using this link.
- The one-time cost for parent volunteers is $55, and you will remain in our system as long as you continue volunteering with Moreland.
- If you have previously been fingerprinted for Moreland, you do not need to be fingerprinted again.
- Complete online mandatory reporter training (annual requirement)
- Provide proof of a clear TB test (valid for four years)
- Send completed TB tests to Cristi Dendy (cdendy@moreland.org)
- A valid ID or passport when checking in at the front office
PTO Support
The PTO is committed to making it as easy as possible for families to participate in our school community by reducing barriers to volunteering and directing families to the district for official requirements and guidance.
Fingerprinting: Need-based assistance is available for fingerprinting fees. See Konstella for details.
Mandatory Reporter Training: Parents interested in completing the required training alongside other volunteers are welcome to connect through the PTO. If there is sufficient interest, families may choose to coordinate informal group viewing sessions.
District Policy
Updated District Student Cell Phone Policy
The district has adopted an updated student cell phone policy that takes effect this school year. We encourage all families to review the policy on the district website to understand how it will be implemented at school.
Community Conversations
The PTO does not establish school or district policy. Our role is to help families stay informed and connected.
If parents are interested in learning more about topics such as digital well-being, healthy technology habits, or the impact of smartphones on children, the PTO may help facilitate opportunities for parents to connect, share resources, or organize community discussions. Participation in these activities is entirely voluntary, and the PTO does not endorse any particular viewpoint or advocacy position beyond sharing information and supporting respectful dialogue among our school community.
